Thanks for visiting our animal website. You will find lots of information and advice throughout our site on dog rescue, dog adoption and cat rehoming.
We do currently have a waiting list for foster care. If you need help to rehome your pet, in the first instance please register your pet for rehoming via our “Rehome your pet” section of this website.
We can often help to find pets a home quicker than waiting for foster care, but do have a waiting list for foster space.
We received a call for help from a woman who was looking after her mum and her mums little dog Poppy.
Sadly as her mum wasn't keeping well, she needed to rehome her beloved rescue dog Poppy.
Poppy came from Romania as a rescue to Scotland many years ago and lived a very happy life until her previous owner became unwell.
Poppy was registered for rehoming with Help2Rehome Scotland through her owners daughter.
She was listed on our website for rehoming and was only on the website for a few days before she was offered a new home from Mark Bone, a pharmacist near Edinburgh.
We managed to complete reference and photo checks which we then forwarded onto the previous owner and her daughter for review. After a short wait, we were happy to hear that the family where happy with the new home and Poppy could be rehomed.
Mr Bone and his family rehomed Poppy and have since sent us lots of photos and updates to let us know she is getting on really well.
Poppy is the second dog we have managed to rehome through Lockdown using our new rehoming process of checks and references.
Poppy's previous owners sent us some feedback and said: '' Thank you for everything your group has done to help my mum rehome her dog. It broke her heart having to rehome her and the fact that you got the process done so fast and professional took a lot of stress off her at this sad time''.
''The couple Poppy went too where lovely and will love Poppy as much as we do. Thank you for the fast professional, friendly service you provided.''
Help2Rehome Scotland helped to find George the male cat a new home recently and he went to his new home in Glasgow with Stacey.
Stacey got in touch recently and said George has settled in really well.
She said George isn't keen on sleeping past 6am and usually comes into her room to wake her up.
Stacey said: '' George has settled in well!
He was a bit nervous the first night or two but after that he’s been confident and seems to be happy.
He doesn’t seem to like me sleeping past 6am and comes in to slap my face for attention, ha-ha!
I'm so glad I rehomed this handsome boy. He’s helped me settle into living alone for the first time and the flat doesn’t seem so empty anymore''.
Happy new home George!
'I would like to say a sincere and massive thank you to your team/organisation.
The service you have provided is second to none and you have eased our grief by rehoming my recently deceased mother-in-laws precious cat Nova with an amazing family.
We took Nova to them last night and instantly she looked at ease and after showing us around their immaculate and beautiful home and chatting with the couple we left her with them feeling happy in the knowledge that this was exactly what my mother-in-law would have wanted and what Nova deserves.
Thank you so very much again and keep up the good work. I most certainly will be an advocate for your services''. - Sharon Kelly, Renfrew.
We helped to rehome Molly the lovely white female cat recently after her previous owner needed to find a new home.
One of our Fife home checkers carried out a check on a new home for Molly and it was important that Molly was rehomed to the best home because she is deaf and needs some extra attention.
After a successful home inspection was carried out by our checker Janis, Molly was introduced to her new owner and rehomed.
Her previous owner Amy got in touch with us and said: ''Thank you so much for the service your volunteers provided to help rehome my cat Molly.
It was so difficult for me to give Molly away to a new home and you helped find her a lovely new family and also putting me at ease with your home check and continually updating me with the progress.
I'm so thankful for your team and all the hard work your all doing''. - Amy Clark.
Happy new home Molly.
