Where are you based?
Help2Rehome Scotland cover the whole of Scotland. We don't have a base where we are based from as our staff work from across Scotland.
All of our foster carers are placed throughout Scotland and look after pets until they get a new home. We cover Scotland from the Borders to the Highlands and everywhere in between.
I've seen an animal for rehoming, where is he/she based?
As Help2Rehome Scotland covers the whole of Scotland, animals for rehoming are based all over the country.
We don't have 1 central base where we keep all animals.
When we do appeals on social media, we don't share locations in public posts, this is to protect owners who may be fleeing domestic abuse.

How long will it take to rehome my pet?
This is a question that we get asked every day - Sadly there is no answer to this. We are unable to say how long it will take to rehome a pet as we cannot see when someone will get in touch.
With our reach and contact base, we have a high success rate at rehoming animals fairly quickly, however this isn't a guarantee.
Can you collect my animal up if a new home is found?
Yes, we cover the whole of Scotland and can often arrange transport to collect pets. A fuel charge may apply.
Can I come and meet an animal I am interested in rehoming?
We allow meetings once a home check has been carried out first. As pets stay with foster carers or owners until they are rehomed, we need to ensure anyone who is genuine and offering a new home has been vetted first.
Once a successful home check has been completed, a meeting can be arranged.
Can you look after my pet while I move home/go on holiday?
We don't offer private boarding if anyone is moving home or going on holiday.
How do I get in touch to offer an animal a new home?
If you have seen an animal for rehoming on our website and it states 'Available', this means the pet is still available for rehoming. Please email info@help2rehome.com
We do not accept calls regarding pets for rehoming, all enquiries do need to be in writing via email.
If I rehome my pet through Help2Rehome, can I get updates?
Yes, our service is designed to put previous and new owners in touch with each other, therefore you know where your pet is being rehomed too and can keep in touch with new owners for updates and photos - giving you peace of mind that your pet is doing well and settling into a new home.
I want to surrender my pet for rehoming but cannot afford the registration fee, can you still help m
Yes, we can still help and we can often reduce the registration fee or waive it, depending on circumstances, please give us a call on 0330 133 4594 between 10am and 4pm Monday - Saturday to speak to the rehoming team. You can also email info@help2rehome.com if you prefer.
Do you have a kennels or cattery?
We do not have kennels or a cattery. All animals we look after stay with foster carers or previous owners until a new home is found.
We believe that animals transition to new homes better when they are able to move between their previous home or a foster home.
If an animal is not use to kennels or catteries then this could cause distress. We have never used kennels or catteries for any pets we look after.
Do you charge an adoption fee to rehome an animal?
Yes, we have to charge an adoption fee for the pets that we rehome as we cannot give animals away for free.
Giving animals away for free is dangerous as they can often be rehomed by people who will only take a pet if they are free/people who do not have financial means to support a pet such as registering at vets, taking out insurance / food and pet essentials.
In line with all rescue's and rehoming centres up and down the country, we charge an adoption fee which ranges depending on the pets needs.
Who makes the rehoming decision?
Help2Rehome Scotland carry out home checks and suitability checks on behalf of pet owners. Once a new home is found, it would be up to the pet owner to make a decision whether to rehome their pet or not.
Help2Rehome Scotland do not make rehoming decisions unless the animal is in our care with our foster team. The decision to go ahead is always for the owner as they know their pet best.
